実際に乗れる車両は「アイアンホース号」と言い、博物館に展示
されている「しづか号」と同じポーター社製で、1909年にアメリカで
製造された、相当に年季の入った車両です。

ちなみに100年以上前の蒸気機関車で動態保存されているのは、
国内ではこのアイアンホース号だけ、その上現存するテンダー式
蒸気機関車の中でも世界一古いという話もあり、こんな場末の（失礼）
博物館で乗れるというのが何だか不思議な感じがします（笑）

運行は、博物館外の展示スペースにある「中央駅」から端っこの
「手宮駅」までの約４００ｍをおおよそ8分ほどで運転。
手宮駅にある転車台でぐるっと一回転して、また中央駅に戻ってくる
という大体20分ほどの工程です。

ちなみにアイアンホース号の運行は2時間おきに１日3回。
特に料金はかからず、入館料のみで搭乗できます。
鉄道ファンのみならず、子供を連れていったりデートで
行ったりしても結構楽しめるのではないでしょうか。

Locomotive is running about about 8 minutes from “Central Station” to “Temiya Station” at the garden of museum.

By the way, operation of the Iron Horse is three times a day par two hours.
In particular fee is not applied, can boarding only in admission fees.
